Being Me – Support for Autism & ADHD

Updated: Jan 8

An Autism or ADHD diagnosis can feel at times both liberating and overwhelming.  Being differently able, as it’s sometimes described, can be both amazing and challenging, often at the same time.  The ‘Being Me’ programme at Insight Youth is specifically designed to support young people aged 10 – 25 who have recently been diagnosed with an Autistic Spectrum / Attention Deficit type condition.

Supported to develop a stage-appropriate understanding of what a diagnosis means, individuals are encouraged to explore how their neurodivergence uniquely influences them and their individual experience of the world.  Session content is guided by a person-centred approach to include areas according to the individual’s priorities but will often include tailored self-management strategies aimed at reducing the long-term risk of developing anxiety and depression.

Empowering neurodivergent young people to be confident in themselves and their ability to self-manage, the programme provides crucial targeted early support.  Available to individuals from across the Scottish Borders, up to eight one to one sessions are delivered by a certified therapist experienced in neurodivergence.  From one of our specially designed therapeutic spaces, our therapists incorporate the latest research and understanding in a tailored approach unique to every individual.
